Quantum Clippy
A downloadable game for Windows
Made for the 4MB Game Jam.
Move with WASD. Shoot your gun with left mouse button to stun any enemies to give you time to escape. You cannot kill the enemies, you must reach the end, indicated by a red ball (sorry I wanted something fancier).
You can adjust the gamma (brightness) with the Up and Down arrow keys.
Quit the game with ESC or ALT+F4 or press the power button on your PC.
The 5kb version of the game takes a LONG time to open, like 20 seconds before anything happens. Also your antivirus will likely complain. If you'd prefer, there's a friendlier 8kb version uploaded too.
Does not run on Intel integrated GPUs , but AMD APUs and discrete GPUs from AMD and nVidia have been tested and confirmed to work.
Install instructions
Just download and run.

Really impressive in general to have the flashlight effect and 3d graphics in 5k, so kudos in general! The music is creepy, the static effect is good as is the distance-based distortion effect.
I think my only criticism is the usual game jam one- it feels too short and sparsely populated. It’s a good tech demo and the atmosphere is there, it’s just some level design away from being a cool little game.
Edit: Also, I think you did a great job of sticking with the theme. Really feels like Clippy is doing some quantum weirdness.
Thank you! Yes it's definitely too short and a bunch of stuff I wanted to add is missing. Partially due to it being a jam like you said, but also I focused too much on the tech, including some systems that ended up not being included.
Clippy doing quantum weirdness was kinda a happy accident, and initially I had intended for something very different. Ended up being changed in the last few hours before the deadline, because I did not have time to finish my original idea. Initially I was very worried that I had nothing fitting the theme, but after playing it again after some sleep I kinda like how Clippy behaves and I think it fits the theme.
Yeah, definitely easy to get over invested in properly engineering your demo. Definitely have to actively fight myself so I don’t pave the trail before I’ve walked to the end once.
A whole lot of great ideas come from happy accidents, glad to hear you got to have one!
